Dr. Jacobson served for more than a decade as Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs and Chief Executive Officer of Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he led one of the nation’s largest and most respected academic health systems. Under his leadership, Vanderbilt experienced substantial clinical, research, and financial growth, including major expansions in NIH-funded research, patient services, and healthcare infrastructure.
Beyond his academic leadership, Dr. Jacobson is a seasoned entrepreneur and investor. He has co-founded several successful healthcare companies, including Renal Care Group, which grew into a leading dialysis provider and was acquired for $4.5 billion.
